About This Branch
With a shared vision of enriching the lives of Kansas Citians and our community, we have partnered with Metropolitan Community College to provide holistic solutions to achieving peace of mind at the first ever Community Access Center in Kansas City.
Our Community Access Center is staffed by CommunityAmerica’s Financial Well-Being Coaches, certified CUNA Financial Counselors (FiCEP) focused on helping members plan and navigate their path to achieve financial peace of mind. While we recognize that CommunityAmerica’s area of expertise lies in improving the financial well-being of our members, we also understand there are other services that individuals need to truly better their lives. That’s why we created the Community Access Center to serve as a place to connect, educate, and offer vital skills and workshops to help the Kansas City community thrive.
Our Well-Being Coaches provide one-on-one money management consulting, customized life plan development, and regular financial “check-ups,” as well as a connection to social, education, and other community services. If you’d like to meet with a Well-Being Coach, we recommend making an appointment and planning for a 60-minute session. Walk-ins are welcome.
Through these centers, Metropolitan Community College offers workforce development and adult high school equivalency education courses to our community, equipping individuals with the tools they need to secure better jobs and brighter futures. MCC staff will be available weekly, Monday – Friday, from 9:00am – 5:00pm and by appointment.
We also offer a Community Room that provides a space for our members and community to host events, meetings, school gatherings, and more. You can host a small group of up to 66 people, and there’s even access to a small kitchenette. Please work with our center staff to make arrangements to reserve this space.
Although the goal of the Community Access Center is to have more in-depth conversations with members about their financial future, this center does function as a full-service branch. Stop by to open an account, apply for a loan, or use our Interactive Teller Machines to conduct transactions like making a deposit or withdrawal, cashing checks, transferring money, and making payments.
This location is less than a mile from our Blue Ridge Community Financial Center on Blue Ridge Boulevard. Stop by the center to start your in-depth financial consultation, develop your life plan, and gain access to a library of community resources and other non-profits to assist in your overall well-being. Appointments are recommended.
